DCC Alumni Spotlight – Jaclyn Tisdale Hill
Jaclyn, or better known as “Jax” is from Gonzalez, Louisiana, where she was born and raised and now currently resides. She attended LSU and informed me of the fun fact that the university has a live tiger on campus! She said it is a fun attraction to see when tourists visit the area. Jax was a DCC for two years, from 2015 to 2017 and was best friends and roommates with Amy. The year following her retirement, she married her husband who she had gone to school
DCC Alumni Spotlight – Judy London Young
I had the pleasure of speaking with the amazing Judy, or “The Other Judy” as her teammates called her. Judy London Young was faced with a bit of pushback from her family when she expressed interest in dance after college. Dad encouraged her to ‘get a real job’ and mom did not allow her to pursue dance as her major in college. However, she saw an opportunity with Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and was determined to pursue her passion of dance. Let’s *FLASHBACK* to when Judy was a young
DCC Alumni Spotlight – Pamela Jagger Purcel
I recently had the privilege of interviewing DCC Alumni, Pamela Jagger Purcel. Pamela cheered for the Dallas Cowboys for 3 years from 1997-2000. Pamela’s work ethic and dedication to her craft was immediately evident from the start of our conversation. We exchanged many stories, laughs and experiences, then quickly realized how many similarities we share. We graduated from performing arts high schools, our fathers served in the Air Force, we spent some of our childhoods’ growing up in Fort Worth, and even attended some of the same
DCC Alumni Spotlight – Jill Vandygriff Tidwell
Growing up in a small town about an hour north of Dallas, being a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader was something Jill had always dreamed about doing. That dream didn't seem achievable until her sophomore year of high school when a girl from her very own hometown made the squad. She followed her journey for the next two years and did her research on how the audition process worked. The day after Jill’s senior prom, at age 18, she tried out to become a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. Jill went through
DCC Alumni Spotlight – Doris Boettigheimer Bonvino
I had the privilege of interviewing DCC Alumni Doris Boettigheimer Bonvino. Doris cheered for the Dallas Cowboys for 3 seasons from 1979-1981. I thoroughly enjoyed my conversation with Doris! I was inspired by her discipline, her love and dedication to her family, and her kind nature. I am grateful for the many pockets of wisdom and advice she kindly shared with me. Doris is a Dallas native and grew up with intensive training in ballet and jazz. She developed a love for performing from an early age
DCC Alumni Spotlight – Allana Moore Luterman
Allana was born and raised in Irving, TX and now resides in Addison, TX. She cheered for the Dallas Cowboys football team during the 1994 and 1995 seasons. You know what that means? Allana cheered at the last Cowboys Super Bowl appearance - XXX, and she cheered with Shelly B! She cheered just a few years before the belt buckle was reintroduced to the uniform, and she is very jealous that she missed that transition. Allana started her dance career as a gymnast. She had been a gymnast
DCC Alumni Spotlight – Nancy Harrison
Nancy Harrison is someone you and I would consider a pioneer of the team we now call the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. During a time when you had to be a high school student to try out for the squad, Nancy, a 17 year old senior, was one of many to show up to tryouts in her culottes at Highland Park Gymnasium. To her excitement, she was one of the few who were selected for the 1968 CowBelles & Beaux, the coed cheer squad who represented the Dallas
DCC Alumni Spotlight – Holly Squier Hubbard
Holly Hubbard is a born and raised Texas girl who grew up in Denton, Texas. She graced the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders organization for 5 years where she had the privilege of serving as a group leader and experiencing the great opportunities that come with wearing the bright and shining stars. She auditioned for the team as a brave 20-year-old and danced for the 2011-2015 seasons. Prior to DCC, Holly was a member of the University of North Texas Dance Team for 3 years. Holly and her family
DCC Alumni Spotlight – Jayne Ann Maxwell Kuhn
On February 25, I met Jayne Ann Maxwell Kuhn for coffee and had the pleasure of hearing about her journey as a DCC. Jayne only cheered for one year in 1980. Her journey started while she was a cheerleader at UNT. Tex Schramm and Suzanne Mitchell were walking around campus one day and saw her and thought she would be a perfect cheerleader. Tex and Suzanne were actually in the middle of Finals, and they didn’t have enough girls that they liked to put through to make
DCC Alumni Spotlight – Carey DePasquale Pound
Carey Pound is originally from Montgomery, Alabama, but considers Atlanta, Georgia her hometown. She currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband and two daughters, Alexandra and Olivia. Carey grew up dancing and cheering through grade school. After high school, Carey attended Auburn University and auditioned for the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders. Carey cheered for the Atlanta Falcons for 7 years, where she spent two seasons as a captain and was selected to represent the team as their 2009 Pro Bowl Cheerleader. It was at the 2009 Pro
