Dear Younger Jada,

I want to tell you that there is nothing in life that you will not overcome. You are going to go through good times and bad but remember that you are strong and to always turn to God. Many things in life are going to happen that are completely out of your control, but it is up to you to see the silver lining in everything that comes your way.

I know you feel like you are different from a lot of people around you, but it is your differences that make you who you are, so embrace them. The color of your skin, the texture of your hair, and your height are all qualities that you are insecure about right now. That is going to change. In years from now those very qualities will be what makes you stand out in a crowd and gets you noticed.

You are going to make very tough decisions in your future, whether-or-not to pursue one passion over another. Trust in your heart that you chose the right path because your love for dance and determination to be the best you can be are going to take you a long way. Do not be afraid to put yourself out there and to step out of your comfort zone. Believing in yourself and chasing your dreams no matter what people tell you is going to inspire the next generation of little girls who look like you.

Always remember to thank the Lord, your family, and your friends for their love and support; and never take an opportunity to do what you love for granted. You are the only you on this Earth and do not need to compare yourself to those around you. You have something special to share with the world, so follow your heart and never lose sight of your dreams. I promise you that all of your hard work is going to pay off in a beautiful way.
