WHAT IS YOUR DANCING BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE? I am originally from Hammond, Louisiana. I started my early dance training at the age of 2 at Main Street Dance. I trained in all styles winning many regional and national titles. I trained in jazz, tap, ballet, pointe, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, and acro. During high school, I was a member of the dance team and captain for 2 years. After graduating from high school, I attended Louisiana State University, where I was an LSU Tiger Girl for four years, serving as captain my junior and senior year. My sophomore and senior year, the LSU Tiger Girls won the 2022 and 2024 D1A Hip Hop National Championship with our viral “Like A Boy” dance and Michael Jackson tribute “Smooth Criminal.” I have worked for Universal Dance Association for 5 years helping teach, judge, and model for Varsity Spirit. I have taught and choreographed for several dance teams and studios in Louisiana.
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO AUDITION FOR DCC? An “older girl” at my studio growing up went on to be a Tiger Girl and then auditioned for the Cowboys. She was always my biggest inspiration and ever since I saw her trying to pursue her dreams, I became infatuated with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. It was always my plan to try and be exactly like her. After about two years on Tiger Girls, I started going to prep classes and training for DCC. My passion in life is to dance and getting to do that for an organization I wholeheartedly adore, and support is beyond special. Every day I step foot into the studio or put on the uniform, I am living an answered prayer and there is nothing more empowering than living out a purpose. When I was younger, I knew I wanted to be a DCC, but now I truly realize the weight of what it means to be a DCC and I am forever honored to be a small part of this incredible organization.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE WHO DREAMS OF BECOMING A DCC? I would tell them to go for it with everything they have. Train, research, invest, and give 110% of yourself to this process. Whether you make it or not, the tryout process will make you a better human being and dancer, so go for it and do not look back. I would also say have confidence to pursue your dreams. Believe in yourself and know what is meant for you, will always find you. You are your biggest advocate and the only person that can truly get you to where you want to go. Dream big and shoot for the stars… You only live one life, so take every chance you can!
WHAT DO YOU LOOK FORWARD TO DURING THIS FIRST YEAR AS A DCC? I am looking forward to dancing halftime during the Thanksgiving Game. It is such an iconic part of being a DCC and one of the coolest experiences in the world. Besides that, I am looking forward to meeting all the amazing Dallas Cowboys fans and connecting with those who love the same thing as me. I am also looking forward to connecting with alumni because they have truly paved the way for us to have this amazing platform.
FINISH THIS STATEMENT: When I look back on my life…. I want to have loved a whole lot, failed, succeeded, be surrounded by tons of family and friends, and seen as much of God’s beautiful Earth as I possibly could.
