WHAT IS YOUR DANCING BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE? I started dancing at the age of 2 in a small town where competitive dancing was not a thing. In high school, I started taking dance classes at my local Junior College because my high school did not have a dance team. It wasn’t until my junior year in college that I found out what a dance team was. Being on the Sonoma State Dance Team, my eyes were opened to a whole new outlook on dance. I LOVED the team community but had to work extremely hard because I had never done all the technical elements and tricks, they wanted us to do. I did one season on the team and wasn’t ready to give up dance yet, so I auditioned for the Golden State Warriors Dance Team, knowing nothing about the pro-environment. I made it to training camp and then was cut, although, after auditioning for a second year, I was fortunate enough to be welcomed on the team. When Covid hit, I moved to Texas and thought why not audition for DCC! I was invited to training camp and was cut early on, but that did not stop me. I made the team in 2022 after working extremely hard and committing myself to continual growth and my craft. Nothing is impossible.
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO AUDITION FOR DCC? So many reasons, but most importantly to be a part of this group of amazing women. When you meet a DCC, you’ll notice that something is different about them. Each of these women live their lives as good stewards, embodying kindness and generosity and I want nothing more than to be a part of that.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT BEING A PART OF DCC? I love the continuous strive we all give to be better. With both the rookies and the veterans, everyone is constantly growing and wanting to be better not only for themselves, but for their team.
PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENT: My proudest accomplishment is marrying my husband and together, learning how to live the best lives we can.
IN 10 YEARS FROM NOW I WILL … I used to have a timeline for everything in life, but I honestly just want to live every day to the fullest and be happy in every choice I make. I would love to have a few kids of my own and most importantly, be exactly where the Lord has planned for me to be.
