WHAT IS YOUR DANCING BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE? I began dancing at 2 years old. I join a competitive dance company at 7 years old. I trained in ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop and tap at Company C Dance Club. I was then recruited to The Ohio State Dance Team junior year of high school. During my 4 years at OSU, we won 6 UDA National Championships in Jazz, Pom, and Gameday.
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO AUDITION FOR DCC? I wanted to further my dance career and challenge myself. I wanted to dance next to the best of the best while having a sisterhood. The DCC are beautiful inside and out, they make me want to better myself as a dancer and as a human.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE WHO DREAMS OF BECOMING A DCC? Be open to feedback, don’t be afraid to ask for help, and be a good person!
WHAT DO YOU LOOK FORWARD TO DURING THIS FIRST YEAR AS A DCC? I look forward to the chills when we walk into the filled stadium and hear Thunderstruck. Along with the many memories, opportunities, and growth. I can’t wait to share this experience with my new best friends.
FINISH THIS STATEMENT: When I look back on my life…I realize how many people have supported me in my dance journey. I am so grateful for my family’s continuous support and the dedicated coaches who steered me in the right direction to develop a strong foundation dance. I also realize how important it is to take care of yourself and others physically, mentally and spiritually. I realize how critical it is to talk, reach out, share and let things go.
