When I began my journey as a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader (DCC), I had no idea that I would be welcomed into such a family that would extend beyond my team and into teams of DCC past. To me, this sisterhood embodies every woman who has worn the uniform, and I am truly lucky to be part of it. As I neared the end of my rookie season, I took time to reflect… and what a year it was! The “Power of the Star” is real and true.

Elizabeth Davis Wisdom is a southern sweetheart, born and raised in Tyler, Texas. At age seven she discovered her passion for performing and started dancing competitively throughout her years in school. A student of Robert E. Lee High School, Elizabeth was a member of the drill team all four years, and was appointed Captain for her senior year. After graduation, Elizabeth continued her love for dance at the collegiate level as a member of the famous Kilgore College Rangerettes for two years. She loved her experience as

Ryan Ray, shows us how being obedient through a blessing can have some trials, but ends up catapulting us into something much greater! In 1957, 7-year-old Vicki was a student of the iconic Texie Waterman, former choreographer for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, who gave the team the style and knowledge to pave the way for NFL cheerleading. Vicki auditioned in 1973 to be a part of Texie’s new dance venture with the Dallas Cowboys Football Club. She made the team and cheered for 2 seasons with the Cowboys. Being an NFL cheerleader was a completely new concept, and they needed to create a path for future cheerleaders for all NFL

Jordan Baum was born with the stars in her heart, as she grew up in Dallas, Texas training at the Dallas Power House of Dance. The oldest of six siblings, Jordan initially started her professional dance career at the age of 18 with the Dallas Mavericks Dancers. After gaining some professional experience under her belt, Jordan traded the basketball court for the turf and auditioned for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. In 2008, she made the team her first year and started her Cowboys journey! Jordan had the unique

When people hear “Dallas Cowboys”, their thoughts are set.  The iconic star, the brand, and names of all the great players are first and foremost. Some may even think of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. America’s Team and America’s Sweethearts, are often thought of as trailblazers. Setting standards, starting trends and accomplishing new heights at every level. With the many strides that have been made with the NFL’s history, there are a few that have only been recognized within the DCC organization. Billie and Amber Gosdin are the first

Vandy Haby cheered for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders from 2002-2004 with Kelli Finglass and Judy Trammell as her Director and Choreographer. She was also a member of the very first Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader All-Stars team from 2004-2005. She started her professional dance journey on the Texas Tech Pom Squad. When she went to her first tryout, she went in not knowing what to expect.  She walked in and said everyone was very competitive and there were 500+ people there! Instead of feeling intimidated, she focused on herself and

Long-time educator and school administrator Fredelyn Christian was also a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader during the 1979-1980 season. A local of Brownwood, Texas, Fredelyn moved to the “big city” of Denton, to attend the University of North Texas. While there, she befriended another DCC who encouraged her to go for it and try out for the team. After an intense (and shortened) 4 weeks of training camp, Fredelyn made the squad, along with one of her college sorority sisters under the direction of the legendary Suzanne Mitchell and Choreographer

Amberly was a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader for two seasons- 2004 and 2005. After finishing four years at Texas Tech University, she decided to drop everything and audition for the team of her dreams. Amberly got her boots that year and had two incredible seasons with the Cowboys. Some of her most memorable moments were the performances opportunities she had while on the team. Destiny’s Child, Cheryl Crowe, and Journey were some of the artists she got the pleasure of meeting and performing with. Dancing to “Don’t Stop

I had the honor of interviewing and getting to know Dawn Broadus Smith! Dawn cheered for two years, 1986 to 1988. Dawn was a small town girl with a big city dream! Originally from Mississippi, Dawn dreamt of becoming a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader after visiting her older sister in Dallas. She grew up loving to dance and perform, but knew she would have to learn a lot along the way. When Dawn showed up to the audition, she said that there were over 2,000 women there! Instead
