DCC Alumni Spotlight – Carey DePasquale Pound

DCC Alumni Spotlight – Carey DePasquale Pound

Carey Pound is originally from Montgomery, Alabama, but considers Atlanta, Georgia her hometown.  She currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband and two daughters, Alexandra and Olivia.  Carey grew up dancing and cheering through grade school.  After high school, Carey attended Auburn University and auditioned for the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders.  Carey cheered for the Atlanta Falcons for 7 years, where she spent two seasons as a captain and was selected to represent the team as their 2009 Pro Bowl Cheerleader.   It was at the 2009 Pro Bowl Game that Carey met Jackie Bob, and they decided to embark on their journey towards “Making The Team” together!

Carey wore the iconic DCC uniform for the 2009 and 2010 seasons. Carey thoroughly enjoyed training camp her rookie season and loved the transition from being a captain and Pro Bowl Cheerleader to becoming a rookie again.  During her time with DCC, Carey participated in a calendar shoot in Mexico and had the opportunity to be a show group alternate.  Carey’s favorite DCC tradition was the circle of prayer before every game and performance.

When asked what advice she would give current and future DCC, she exclaimed “Be true to yourself!” Carey went on to encourage current and future DCC to cherish every second of their individual DCC journeys, and be careful to not let the uniform define them.
